Join Dr. Dave for a Botanical Medicine Making Class Series at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens.
Wednesdays September 13, September 27 and October 11. Class begins at 11:00am and runs an hour and half.

Herbal Series: DIY Elderberry Syrup Class at the Garden

Boil berries while they’re bountiful. Make medicine in season to prepare for winter blues and bugs. Fight off colds, flu, coughs and allergies with this age old remedy. Elderberries offer antioxidants, potassium, beta carotene, calcium, phosphorus, and vitamin C. Local berries are provided by Boy and Girl Farm with raw wildflower honey from Haw Creek! Learn how to turn some of our most common weeds into herbal goodness! Not only will you learn how to make medicine, you will get to take some home with you as well. Experience the power of nature and the energy and power plants can offer. Learn how to identify some common plants and what parts to use for medicine.$32/person. Register here.
Herbal Series: Digestive Bitters Mixology
10/11 – Wednesday 11:00am-12:30pm
Learn the importance of bitters in your diet. Dr. Dave Hamilton will discuss the difference between herbal bitters and how to use them. The class also includes a hands-on portion where you will take home a 1 oz. bitter formula for your own creation customized for you, by you! $32/person. Register here.
Guests will check in at Visitor Pavilion front desk and proceed to classroom. Attendance for each class will range from 5 to 20. Attendance may exceed 20 pending instructor’s approval.
