LAST WEEK AT THE FARM – Dia de los Muertos Dinner

Night came early Sunday evening, and as darkness crept in, it drew attention to the candlelight glow coming from Shopton Road W.

Rain drizzled down… A few guests donned Dia de Los muertos makeup while costume clad Chihuahuas scuttled underfoot. Farm friends enjoyed delightfully fresh appetizers like dolmas and cakes with succotash.

Everyone had something to celebrate. Whether it was remembering the dearly departed, appreciating the bounty of the earth from local farms, or congratulating Dr. Dave on the opening of his new practice, everyone felt the same spirit present. We raised glasses of home brewed beers and kombucha.

Chef James Swofford prepared a beautiful 5-course meal from local farms, with such highlights as rabbit potpie, fresh herb goat cheese, and for dessert, Mexican chocolate with pan del muerto. Dr. Dave and Laura called it one of their most successful events at the farm yet!
