So you think you want a goat?

Many thanks to those of you who have attended one of my last THREE classes on goats! The class has been a big success and I hope will bring those who have been on the fence about goat ownership one step closer to “coming home”. It is a way of life and a brilliant new direction for those who love gardening, love animals and aren’t afraid of a little hard work. Goats are very affordable, lovable creatures whose time investment has many returns. If you’ve considered owning a goat, come meet others who are also considering the idea and who knows, maybe there’s a goat share opportunity in your future, even if you can’t own one yourself.
My husband and I will each be giving a brief overview THIS WEEKEND at Prepperfest. This Sunday, April 28th look for the Valley Permaculture Alliance booth. I will give a brief overview of goat ownership, my husband will speak a bit on basic medical goat and chicken home care. David will also give a brief overview of wild crafting. These will all be 30 minute tasters of longer classes that we offer through both the Valley Permaculture Alliance and Root Phoenix.
I am offering a soap making class in June. Both a Beginner Goat Class and a Basic medical Goat Home Care class are offered on May 7th and 14th 6:30pm at the VPA offices. When our girls are in milk later this fall, we’ll offer milking demos and cheese workshops. Stay tuned!
