More About Our Company

Native to Virginia, Laura returned to her home state as a functional herbalist and budding clinical nutritionist. After a decade of dreaming, their farm name and mantra Wish We Had Acres came to fruition in the village of Elliston. This lifestyle as a land steward enriched the many years of hard work with a stunning wilderness retreat. I have since relocated to the Grandin Village of Roanoke, VA to better serve the health needs of the greater community locally and nationally through telehealth online. I still operate the farm natural products business and grow a beautiful nourishing botanical, medicinal garden, while supporting efforts for the visitors and land steward on the conservation easement where the goats still reside. It is lovely to return to the heart of the blue ridge mountains of Virginia with my family of goats, turning grass into soap & weeds into remedies. With any luck, this will be a bountiful year for the Paw Paw trees, front yard straberry patches, mushroom foraging, and heirloom vegetables.

Inspired by family with sensitive skin… our soap was born. Goat’s milk is naturally high in vitamins and minerals: Iron, Magnesium, Potassium, Protein, Zinc, Calcium, Vitamins A, B-6, C, D, E, B-12. Each bar offers more than one full ounce of our farm raised goat milk. On our farmstead, waste is a resource, so we transform leftover bits (of soap) into laundry soap. We grow and wild craft many of our own herbs, and turn them into medicine for your well-being. We care about what’s put in and on the body, and connect to our environment through food & medicine.

Find our hand crafted goat milk soaps, natural body care products and herbal apothecary in our Farm Shop available online and at area retail locations. We offer shipping nationally through our online store. Follow us on Facebook for pop up events near you or schedule an appointment to connect with us about your personal nutrition and health goals.

Look for the return of classes throughout the year. Classes are beginner friendly and cover a variety of topics including how to milk a goat, basic cheese making, goat milk soap workshops, how to make kombucha, basic medicine making, nutrition for a variety of health conditions, bone broth, and more.

Follow us on social media to stay informed of upcoming events.

When not out to pasture, the goats reside in community backyards for weed abatement and make regular public appearances for goat yoga. Our goats have a busy social calendar and would love to attend your private event. Contact us for details. Sadly, we are no longer offering goat rental for weed abatement or goat yoga at this time.

Laura Denyes is a Functional Herbalist and Clinical Nutritionist. Her practice is located by appointment in Grandin Village and through telehealth online. Laura offers community talks on a variety of natural approaches to wellness and nutrition.
