Wild Herb Weekend

Wild Herb Weekend is an annual conference, held in the beautiful high mountain location of Valle Crucis, NC. There is something for everyone at this intimate little conference. Whether you grow herbs for a hobby, use herbs for healing, or want to start a commercial herb operation, you will find many interesting sessions and hands-on workshops and plant walks to participate in!

Dr. Dave will be leading three events:
-Ward Off Stress with Adrenal Adaptogenic Herbs! Discover how to reenergize, decrease stress, fight off fatigue, create a new inner calm, improve your immune system.  Learn the warning signs and symptoms of adrenal fatigue and how to prevent it from happening to YOU!

-Herbal First Aid: Dr. Dave will focus on the basics of herbal remedies for a number of common first-aid ailments such as, burns, pain, rashes, infection, diarrhea, wounds and bites. You will learn to design and prepare your very own herbal first aid kits for home or wilderness first aid situations from herbs around your kitchen, backyard, or back country excursion.Herb identification will also be a component of this course.  By the end of this short course you will have a deeper understanding of which plants to harvest and how to process them for best results.

-ASK AN HERBALIST ANYTHING PANEL: Gather around to ask an herbalist anything.  An open discussion with Mimi Hernandez, David Hamiliton and Doug Elliott.  How to use and prepare herbs, what they look like, disease prevention or what is their favorite herb.   Moderated by Jeff Rieves.

Laura will be teaching two classes.
-Cooking with Nature: The NCHA has printed a unique cookbook which provides not only nutritional recipes but also herbal healing preparations and formulas by prominent herbalists around the country. Laura will be sharing her favorite recipes and provide tastings for the lucky few who will get to experience a flavorful treat. Rumor has it she may even share her precious raw goat milk herb cheeses.

-Running Your Own On-line Herbal Business: Everyone who currently has an on-line business or is interested in doing so is welcome and encouraged to attend this session. As a group we will talk about successes and failures with on-line marketing and share tips for using such services as Etsy, Shopify, Facebook, Twitter, Craigslist, Ebay, etc., to sell herbal products, plants, and services.

The conference is being held from July 24-26 in Valle Crucis, NC.
