The first day of spring is here! We are surrounded by blooming buds, bulbs and delicate petals beneath our feet… set aside your lawn mowers for one more week and take a botanical walk with Dr. Dave this Saturday, you may be surprised to learn which of the first signs of spring are beneficial to you.
The first of three botanical walking tours begins at 2:15pm. There will be another offered at 4:45pm and again at 5:30pm. Bring comfortable walking shoes! Pre-register to take the medicine making class from 3:00pm-4:15pm with Dr. Dave. This is an opportunity to take home his Allerg-Ease botanical formula a remedy for seasonal allergies, as part of a demonstration class on how to make your own medicine.
The farm and tours are free and open to the public. Refreshments are available and have been prepared by James Swofford, the Chef’s Farmer, a former chef turned farmer and local foods enthusiast. Donations for his talents are appreciated and will go directly to Jamie to support his endeavors to grow food locally.
There will be cheese making demo, evening goat milking and a variety of treats available to share with the bearded ladies (our goats) and their lovely babes. We will have samplings throughout the afternoon and encourage you to stay as long as you like. Or bring a frisbee and your favorite lawn chair and help us create an atmosphere of community.
Please rideshare, carpool, bike or walk where possible. Parking is extremely limited. Off-street parking can be found in the neighborhood across the road and some parking is available in the gravel drive and front yard. Please be considerate of the yard and other drivers. We look forward to seeing all of you!
